Thanksgiving came early this year for many families in Houston’s Acres Homes area when the Burns’ family of Burns Original Bar B Que hosted their annual Thanksgiving community day on November 23, 2020, where they successfully provided over 1500 people with free dinners! The family collaborated with rapper Slim Thug & The BossLife Foundation and 1501 Certified, which was founded by the Co-Owner of Burns, Carl Crawford. Guests had the opportunity to drive up and receive a to-go dinner for each person in their car in compliance with the social distance orders by the City of Houston. The menu consisted of seafood dressing, green beans, smoked turkey, corn, dinner rolls, and desserts.
“For over 47 years, our community has supported the Burns Family so it is always important to us to give back to the community. This is a family tradition that will forever live on.”
– says Cory Crawford, co-owner of Burns Bar-B-Que. ”
